Waterbird
Title:  Waterbird
Description:  Atlas missle silos once surrounded Altus AFB. Sites at Lone Wolf, Snyder, Cache, Creta, Hollis, Russell, Willow, Hobart, Manitou OK and Fargo TX were all activiated in 1962. All sites were shutdown in 1965. This "missle" is known as a Waterbird. The Atlas missle were raised out of their silo to the surface to fire. The Waterbird is a test missle, filled with water, to test the functioning of the silo without firing a missle.
